Quicksilver overview
Quicksilver is a light, fast and free Mac application that gives you the power to control your Mac with keystrokes alone.
Quicksilver allows you to find what you need quickly and easily, then act upon these objets as you see fit. All with your fingers on the keyboard. As an example, if you want to find an application hidden in the depths of your file system, simply activate Quicksilver with a keystroke, type a few letters of the application's name, then hit Return or Enter to launch it, or tab and type to find an action such as Quit, Trash, Email To..., Run at Login, Move To..., Get Info, Reveal, the list goes on.
Quicksilver indexes and parses only selected parts of the contents of your hard drive in the Catalog, which means it locates and displays the items matching your search quickly. Quicksilver has a modular structure which means features for interaction with a whole host of of other applications (iTunes, 1Password, Safari, Microsoft Office) can be done after installing the relevant plugin.

It takes a lot of effort to revive a project that went so profoundly bad that it became a public object of hatred. But that effort is apparently being made. Therefore, some history as per Wikipedia: The original developer introduced Quicksilver in 2003, received back much appreciation. In 2006 it was effectively abandoned despite the maintenance of its user forum. In 2007 its source code became public, eventually renewing development in 2009 at GitHub, maintained by a team of volunteer developers known as QSApp. Their rendition, Quicksilver v1.0 went public in 2013. v2.0 went public in 2022 with universal coding for both Intel and Apple ARM. - - Only recently have rapid improvements, new features and bug repairs become evident. I have to wonder if its worth using again, and will be giving it try.

New clunks: Like dark-dark introduction windows that are hard to read. Like Task Viewer obscuring everything beneath it. Like an "Updating Quicksilver" process that is unable to show the actual latest version, has to be enabled manually, and is slow enough to snooze to. Why bother? 💤

Where is the clipboard plugin gone? His quick way to popup was a great plus on QS 1.6.1 but now? It comes without plugins nor any link to get them (fantastic is PopClip for this!)… I feel lost with QS 2 and go back to 1 till I don't find back my used plugins

Quicksilver is still alive??? I used the app on every Mac, every day. It was a wonderful adjunct to the way I use my computer. But it became unstable and seemed to be unsupported, so I abandoned it -- reluctantly -- and moved to Alfred.
I may download and try this latest version (2.4.1) on my M2 MacBook Air, but I really hate switching horses in mid-stream, as they say. Still, I'm curious...
